omega-3-acid ethyl esters
OMACOR
  Pharmaceutical company:
Reliant
www.LOVAZA.com

NEW WARNING
Reliant Pharmaceuticals sent a "Dear Healthcare Professional" letter to announce the renaming of their lipid lowering drug omega-3-acid ethyl esters, currently called OMACOR, to LOVAZA. This is in response to many reports of confusion between Amicar (aminocaproic acid) and OMACOR. All new manufacturing and labeling was changed as of August 1, 2007. Patients with OMACOR can continue to use it, but when the prescription is renewed, they should be informed that the name has been changed to LOVAZA to avoid inadvertent double dosing.
