INDICATIONS AND DOSAGES
Adjunct to hemostasis whenever oozing blood and minor bleeding from capillaries and small venules are accessible and control of bleeding by standard surgical techniques is ineffective or impractical--
Adults: Apply solution directly to bleeding site surface in conjunction with absorbable gelatin sponge; amount needed varies with the area of tissue to be treated.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND CAUTIONS
Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to drug or any of its components or to hamster proteins.
Contraindicated in those with massive or brisk arterial bleeding.
Don’t inject directly into circulatory system.
Use cautiously in patients hypersensitive to snake proteins and in pregnant patients.
INTERACTIONS
None reported.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
CNS: procedural pain.
CV: thromboembolic event, BLEEDING.
GI: nausea, vomiting.
Other: infection, incision site complications, wound infection, hypersensitivity reactions.
Reactions may be common, uncommon, life-threatening,
or COMMON AND LIFE-THREATENING.
